Hello friends!
It’s so good to be back! It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post. It almost feels so foreign to write like this. I’m also excited to be writing on a brand new website (!!!).
What better way to catch you up on what I’ve been up to, and dip my toes back in the “blogging waters” by revisiting an old series of mine from 2018. Think of this as somewhat of a coffee date. Let’s catch up!
Also, I’m a huge fan of cats and coffee so this gif was perfectly made for me. Here we go!
Reading Be Healed by Bob Schuchts and Modern Saints: Their Lives and Faces (Book 1) by Ann Ball. I’ve never been the type to read one book at a time. There’s something a little comforting about switching from one book to another, when the first spiritual book hits you too hard haha.
Be Healed was a book recommended to me by a religious sister, and I’ve been meaning to read it ever since. I’m only a few chapters in, and I’ve been learning so much about healing through this book. Bob Schuchts is a great writer, and I find myself constantly reflecting about my spiritual life. What a powerful book!
Modern Saints was a book recommended by Meg Hunter-Kilmer from a podcast interview. It was one of the books she recommended for those wanting to learn more about saints and their lives. I was intrigued and ordered a copy! She was right. This book is AMAZING. It is nearly 500 pages worth of stories about incredible saints. My favourite part is how Ann Ball made sure to add realistic pictures of the saints. Definitely so cool!
Wondering where God may take me next! I took a step forward in something new recently, and I’m waiting for what the response may be. It’s nerve-wracking at times but there’s nothing more comforting than knowing that God is with me. I don’t need to worry if I’m taking the wrong turn because I know that He won’t ever leave me astray.
Listening to A Pondering Heart Podcast – a new podcast hosted by my friend Rachel and I. We released it last month on the feast day of Saint Joseph. It is such an exciting new adventure I’m so blessed to journey with a good friend. I linked it below if you’re interested in learning more.
Watching The Chosen with my sister. The new season came out on Easter Sunday, and I am so glad! What a great way to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus by learning about Him and His life on earth.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a such fan of how actor Jonathan Roumie portrays Jesus. One of my favourite episodes from the first season is episode three. The entire episode was centered around Jesus and the children He met, and it was so good. As a former Early Childhood Educator, seeing Jesus with children pulled my heartstrings!
Working on learning more about audio. Ever since I started with podcasting and bought my new microphone, I’d love to learn a little more about what happens behind-the-scenes with editing audio.
Frustrated at how confused I am sometimes with where I am supposed to be. The whole idea of not knowing can be so frustrating, especially for a Type-A Miss Perfectionist like myself. Oh well. All will be revealed in God’s time!
Loving all the new friendships I am making recently, even during a global pandemic. I recently had a video call with an Instagram friend of mine, and I absolutely had a blast with her.
I’ve only known her through our interactions online, so I was a little nervous “meeting” her for the first time, but it went so well! She is the absolute sweetest. I am eternally so thankful for the beautiful relationships, both online and offline, that God blessed me with.
Debating on which book out of the two that I’m currently reading should I read next HAHA. It’s always such an internal battle for me. Why can’t I read two books simultaneously at the same time?!
Thankful for my family. I am always so thankful for God’s gift to me. There’s no one else I’d rather spend my time with everyday. My family is a gift and I will never take it for granted.
Struggling with learning how to dance. I am probably the only Filipina that doesn’t know how to dance. I have 2 left feet and have terrible rhythm on the dance floor HAHA.
Praying for all of you and your intentions! I’ve been learning how to pray for others as well as my own intentions. It’s helped keep me accountable to pray even when I don’t feel like it. If you ever have any prayer intentions, please feel free to shoot me message. I would be so happy to pray for you!
Excited about the new Black Widow movie! My sister and I are trying to catch up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films and we both love Scarlett Johansson’s character, Natasha Romanoff. She finally gets her own movie, and she stars with one of my most favourite actresses ever – Florence Pugh!!! I first saw Florence on Little Women and I loved her acting so much. UGH, I will watch it the minute it comes out!!!
Trying to be okay knowing that I don’t need to be on the same path as people I went to high school with. I don’t need to be doing a masters or be engaged right now, even if that’s what the majority of those my age are doing. I will be okay moving at my own pace and in my own path. God will take care of me!
Laughing at my sister’s obsession with the K-Pop band, BTS. Okay, I’m not laughing, I’m more amused. It is seriously endearing to see her be head over heels over these talented Korean men HAHA. Although I am not part of the BTS army, I appreciate the band’s work ethic. Their Grammy performance was so phenomenal!
That’s all for me today. Thank you so much for reaching the end of this incredibly long post.
I would love to hear how you’ve been doing!
